The British Columbia Hockey Leagues' JOE TENNANT MEMORIAL TROPHY is named after the highly thought of BCJHL Coach, Joe Tennant.

Awarded to the head coach who has excelled in his role over the course of the regular season based on expectations, performance and circumstances, as determined by his peers.

He coached in Kamloops, Vernon and Merritt during his prestigious career. He died of cancer in May of 87.

NOTE; Joe coached the Vernon Vikings in the 1974-75 and the 1975-76 seasons.
