Donald McVicar Warner was born on 19 October 1920 in Shaunavon, Grassy Creek No. 78, Saskatchewan, Canada, his father, Clifford McVicar Warner was 21 and his mother, Francis Otis Saunders was 25. He married Peggy Dorothy Newman in 1943. He lived in Maple Creek No. 111, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1926. He died on 5 September 1982 in Vernon, North Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada at the age of 61 and was buried in North Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada. Info gathered from Family Search.


Don was the sports editor of AM radio CJIB, which went on air in Vernon in 1947. He was the voice of the Vernon Senior Canadians' hockey team in the 1950's.

Don was the first play-by-play voice for the Vernon junior 'A' franchise.
